Jones Kitchen

This couple came to Design Works with the hopes of making their kitchen newer and more spacious feeling. They had beautiful existing cabinets and slate flooring. The main "stumbling" item in the existing kitchen was the odd shaped, obtrusive island. After some talking and planning, we came up with a new island design and new cabinets along an open wall that was just "wasted" space. We were able to use part of an existing base and make new cabinets that matched perfectly to the existing ones. Not many people know that can be done. Our customer was ecstatic. We were able to keep the cost down for the client by doing this. Next was the new countertop selection that would compliment a beautiful state floor that had lots of movement and color. We found the perfect look with Cambria Quartz. Then to pull it all together, we selected a semi-neutral 6x6 field tile for the backsplash and gave it the "bling" with a glass and stone 1x2 brick mosaic. The new hood vent was somewhat modern, but very classic. We wanted to give the wall behind the cook top a lasting touch, so we used the glass and stone combination of colors made into a rhomboid shape, framed and trimmed out with a black granite ogee. This turned into a beautiful piece of art that the clients will love for years to come. We also added and accent paint color on one wall and more lighting. We were able to help our customer get the kitchen "remodel" they were hoping for and stayed in their budget.
